Date Night

Bob and I have spent the past five months utilizing date night as our "long run" training sessions. November marks our official recovery period. In combination with the fact that I have spent the last two weeks barricaded in my home I'm afraid I need a refill on my creative juices. I've simply run out of ideas for Date Night.

Therefore I'm proposing a contest...Please submit your suggestion..
The prize has yet to be determined, but mind you it will be worth your 45 second response.

Stipulations: We currently average $50.00 in babysitting per date. As I am currently attempting to "save $1,000.00 in 30 days" please take finances into consideration.. Also, please refrain from suggesting the obvious,of bypassing a babysitter and staying home. This particular expense falls into the "necessity" column.

Good Luck.

Since Ben and I are going to school, have a baby, and are money-less we have some things that we love to do.
1. Pick something up from your favorite restaurant.
2. Drive to your favorite spot in nature (overlooking the bay is a good idea).
3. Eat dinner and enjoy the scenery. This is also a good chance to do a marriage/parent inventory. I am a Marriage and etc. major so I am big on the marriage inventories.
This may seem lame but it can be quite fun. Plus, you aren't wasting your money on a movie that costs almost 25 bucks for 2 tickets and then turns out horrible.

Geez. Go out and do something? In Alaska? In the winter? That's not dinner and a movie? Hmm...that's a tough one. Michael and I LOVE to go to Barnes and Noble, or Borders, and just look around. Read, browse...you could set a spending limit, or say no buying at all. That's always fun, because then you find out what the other REALLY wants, and it helps for gift giving.

I say to keep active like you guys seem to enjoy, go snow shoeing and take a picnic with you and keep each other warm once you get to your picnic spot!!!

Just make your date night a little shorter, you know, two or three hours instead of five! Then you'll save on sitter and hopefully can't spend as much in a shorter period of time. My SIL just buys a movie instead of going to the movies. It cost less, at least the cheaper ones, and then you can keep it. Good luck.

- Do you have an AK Club membership? Go swimming (or hang out in the hot tub, which was my only draw to swim there).

- We're big fans of the Barnes & Noble date. Split a Cheescake Factory cheesecake. Yum!

- Go to the temple.
