Take the Challenge

Trachelle Newman turned me onto this cool, super easy online budgeting program:
Pear Budget
https://www.pearbudget.com/. You can try it free for 30 days.
I have to admit I was BLOWN AWAY when I actually saw in black and white how
much money we spend!

It really got me motivated to find ways to keep more of our hard earned dollars.
So imagine my delight when I stumbled across the Save $1,000.00 in 30 days challenge hosted by: I Will Teach You To Be Rich www.iwillteachyoutoberich.com/blog

I like a good challenge, so I'm all fired up to see how much I can cut this month. Some of the things I have done so far include eliminating shopping, and I mean ALL shopping, including the online kind. I have done this by:

Spending my mornings at the the Alaska Club. Usually I would be running to the mall, Fred Meyer play land, Costco, or a number of other businesses aimed at lightening my wallet. I figured out that I was spending a minimum of $10.00 a day just feeding my kids while I ran around.. totaling a shocking $200.00 a month!

As far as grocery shopping goes, Bob does our weekly Costco run on Saturday (without me and the kids). I can only imagine the amount we will save by that act alone. I have a serious thing with Costco.

I have also put my home projects on "hold" including remodeling the guest bathroom and updating the girls room as they seem to like it just fine "as is".

As far as cutting other expenses I'm trying to follow the tips recommended on the site.

Heck, if it works, that's $12,000.00 by next November....& I've always wanted to see how they roll their fresh rolls in Thailand.

Thailand is so great this time of year. We just got back last week. Traffic was horrible though, especially the foot traffic. So many people wear shoes that are so superior to ours and we couldn't even keep up. We were walking in the right lane, which is the fast/passing lane in Thailand, which is weird cause in the U.S. we pass in the left lane, but anyway, the thai's kept saying, hey move into the middle or left lane and we were like, nice shoes! Must be nice to have that kind of Liera for fancy shoes. We left soon after. No more budgeting for us.
